HYDRATION SUPPLEMENT

Electrolytes

Electrolytes are minerals that help to regulate hydration levels and nerve function in the body.

Dogs do not sweat through the pores in their skin like us humans. When dogs ‘sweat’ they lose electrolytes through the skin of their paws as well as by panting.

Potassium

Potassium is one of the main electrolytes needed in a dog’s body, and it plays an important role in many of the everyday body processes.

For example, potassium helps to regulate canine blood pressure and fluid balance. It also helps to ensure that muscles contract properly.

Without adequate potassium, dogs can experience serious health problems such as muscle weakness and paralysis.

Calcium

Prebiotics

Prebiotics are specialized plant fibers. Prebiotics are compounds in food that induce the growth or activity of beneficial microorganism such as bacteria and fungi.

Galactoligosaccharide

Galactoligosaccharide is a type of carbohydrate that is found in certain plants, including soybeans and legumes.

Dogs need galactoligosaccharide for two main reasons.

First, it helps to keep their gut bacteria healthy. Gut bacteria are important for many different aspects of dog health, including digestion and immunity.

Second, galactoligosaccharide may help to prevent diarrhea. Some studies have found that dogs who take galactoligosaccharide supplements have fewer episodes of diarrhea than those who don’t.

Oligofructose

Galactoligosaccharide is a type of carbohydrate that is found in certain plants, including soybeans and legumes.

Supplements

Supplements are important to ensure adequate essential nutrient intake, as well as to maintain or improve overall health. Vitamins are a commonly known type of supplement.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

MSM is a naturally occurring sulfur compound that is found in animal tissues, including those of dogs. Sulfur is an important element for many bodily functions, and MSM plays a role in joint health, skin health, and detoxification.

While dogs can synthesize their own MSM, sometimes they may need an extra boost. For example, older dogs or those with certain health conditions may benefit from MSM supplements. In addition, active dogs or those who are exposed to environmental pollutants may also need more sulfur in their diet.

For most healthy dogs, a small amount of MSM added to their food will be all that is needed to maintain optimal health.
